The Sea

Talamone is located on a promontory surrounded by the Mediterrean sea. The sea has a central role in its history since the time of Garibaldi, who landed there with his men for supplies of weapons and ammunition on the route to conquest the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.

Image "Cannone's Beach" and "Bagno delle Donne" beach (km 0) Both beaches are easily reachable on foot. The "Cannone's Beach" is wonderful for the incredible landscape, at the foot of the lighthouse. The "Bagno delle Donne" beach is equally wonderful for the sea and equipped with umbrellas and deck chairs. For the deep beauty and purity of water, these two beaches are the starting point for beautiful diving excursions.

Image Fertilia Beach (km 4) At Puntata, between Fonteblanda and Talamone, there is Fertilia beach, for all who love sailing, Windsurfin and Kitesurfing. The beach is located in a bay where daily wind blows heat from April to October. It is very windy also  in other periods though not regular. This site is chosen both for the wind and for the particular geographical that, despite the strong wind, keeps water flat in the first two miles.
The sea is not too deep for more than 200 metres and it's easier to practice sea-sports.

Image Fonteblanda (km 5) For lovers of sandy, quiet  and well equipped beach, we suggest to get Fonteblanda and stop for example to Tirseno bath. Around there are many free beaches.

Image Marina di Alberese (km 18) Nature lovers will enjoy the untouched Maremma park, knowns as Uccellina Park. There it is possible to visit the "Marina di Alberese" beach.

Image Feniglia Beach (km 20) Last but not least, 20 kilometers at south of Talamone, we find the wonderful "Feniglia" beach, made up of fine sand, suitable for families with young children. The beach is 6 km long and connects the promontory of Argentario Mountain with the promontory of Ansedonia. Troughout its length, we find a beautiful pine forest covered by a dirt road suitable for walking and cycling. To get there, take the road that connects with Orbetello - Porto Ercole and then turn left on the crossroads "Feniglia.
