Page 2 of 2 But the sea near Talamone, can be enjoyed also by sailing. Talamone is one of the most important tourist port of Tuscany. Several trips start from this port and are organized to appreciate the beauty of the area. From Talamone, it is possible to reach the island of Giglio, Giannutri and Argentario and also trips to beaches of the Natural Park of Maremma, reachable only by sea (Cala di Forno for example). All the details on the spot. Every information can be asked to local info point. From Santo Stefano port (20 km. south from Talamone), ferryboats leave for Giglio and Giannutri islands. From "Castiglione della Pescaia" (75 km. north from Talamone) and from Piombino (100 km. north from Talamone), you can take the ferryboats towards Elba island. | Giglio Island Extended for just 21 km, the island is characterized by two aspects: the northern part is the most developed from tourism and therefore presents a great receptive density, the southern part has a most savage territory, rich in vegetation and still untouched. Throughout the island, it is possible to find artifacts that testify the past presence of the Etruscans and Romany people. We also recommend a visit from the sea so that you can admire the island as a whole, enjoying all the particularities and discovering the most secret coves and bays with the clearest water. | | Giannutri Island The island has a perimeter of just 11 km: a nature masterpiece! The deep sea has an extraordinary transparency, the rocky cliffs create delightful caves,in the most protected part of the island. The island belongs to the archipelago National Park and has only two docking points: Cala Maestra and Cala Spalmatorio. Everywhere it is possible to find traces of Roman presence, culminating in the ruins of the villa of Enobarbi Domizi, dominant on the island. The loop around Giannutri is undoubtedly a spectacle not to be missed. | | Elba Island Elba island is approximately 20 km from the coast and is the largest of the islands of the Tuscan, and the third largest in Italy. Elba island with its 147 km of coastline, is the image of a heavenly place: we can enjoy the 1000 meters of the Capanne mountain but we can also reache in few kilometers, dream beaches and bays. The largest and equipped beach is Marina di Campo, but across the island, you'll find 130 beaches and coves to be discovered.
